Saints Rugby is officially launching our Girls 7s program in 2025, as one of the fastest-growing segments of Rugby in Australia and one of the fastest-growing sports in the World we are excited to be offering this opportunity to girls on the Sunshine Coast.
In 2025 Saints Rugby will have 3 age groups U13s, U15s and U17s

Under 13 - Girls 7s Rugby
A lot of girls joining this age group have never played contact Rugby before so we always see some nerves and concerns initially. The girls are coached how to play safely, correctly and with I high level of energy. If you know this age group, you can expect a lot fun, energy and crazy. U13 Girls is fantastic

Under 15 - Girls 7s Rugby
U15 Girls 7’s, a number of the players will have played two years of Sevens Rugby by now and are more confident with contact and positional play. Running into space, making tackles and supporting your team mates is a focus for this age group. Friday night fun and tons of laughter are what to expect when playing U15 Girls Sevens.

Under 17 - Girls 7s Rugby
The girls are quick, confident and aware of the space around them on the field. Positional play and knowing that you will always have a teammate in support and on your shoulder. Great handling, and technical skills along with the natural competitiveness make these games great to watch. The comradery and friendship across the teams from all the clubs is something they will foster and be proud of at Saints Rugby

Women’s & Girls rugby
The Sunshine Coast Rugby Union has a Friday night competition for girls aged from U12 to U18. Women aged 18+ play on Saturday in a 6-team competition. For further information about registration, training nights and game times, please email [email protected]
USC Rugby has been at the forefront of rejuvenating Women’s Rugby on the Sunshine Coast by providing teams in the U12, U14, U16 and U18 age groups.
2025 is shaping up to be another exciting year with the Sunshine Coast Competition pencilled in to be bigger and better and Saints Rugby are excited to be a part of it.
On the national scene the ARU have announced a Women’s National Sevens Competition. Being a university-based competition this will be fantastic for USC Rugby this year and coming years.
The semi-professional women’s rugby competition includes players from universities around Australia as well as potential marquee recruits from the national Sevens team and state development squads.
The ARU is hoping the women’s rugby competition will help accelerate the growth of women’s sevens, which has had multiple breakout years with the success of the Australian women’s side.
Join a family-friendly Junior Rugby Club and play in the Sunshine Coast Junior Rugby competition.
Saints compete against clubs across the coast, including Noosa, Maroochydore, Gympie, University, Nambour, Eumundi, Kawana and Caloundra and two school clubs, Matthew Flinders and Sunshine Coast Grammar.
